This is often seen in digital images where diagonal or curved lines appear jagged, also known as "jaggies".

Anti-aliasing: Anti-aliasing is a technique used to counter the effects of aliasing. It works by smoothing the jagged edges (or "jaggies") of an image or signal, making the lines appear smoother and more natural. This is done by adding additional pixels of intermediate color around the edges of the lines or by averaging the colors of nearby pixels.

In computer graphics, anti-aliasing improves the appearance of polygon edges, so they are smooth and not jagged. In digital audio, anti-aliasing filters are used before digital to analog conversion to prevent aliasing distortion.
