  3. Electrons: These are negatively charged particles that orbit the nucleus in different energy levels, often visualized as a cloud around the nucleus. The number of electrons in a neutral atom is equal to the number of protons.

The nucleus (made up of protons and neutrons) is very dense and makes up most of the atom's mass. However, the atom is mostly empty space, with the electrons orbiting far from the nucleus. Despite their small size, atoms combine to form molecules, which make up everything in the world around us.
