What type of image is formed in the eye?

The human eye forms an inverted and real image. Here's how it happens:

1. Light from an object enters the eye through the cornea, the outermost part of the eye. The cornea helps to focus the light.

2. The light then passes through the pupil, the opening in the center of the iris. The iris adjusts the size of the pupil to control the amount of light that enters the eye.

3. The light then passes through the lens, which further focuses the light onto the retina, the light-sensitive layer at the back of the eye.

4. The lens focuses light to form an inverted image on the retina. This is because light rays from the top of an object are focused to the bottom of the retina and vice versa.

5. The retina converts the light into electrical signals which are sent to the brain via the optic nerve.

6. The brain processes these signals and flips the image right-side up to create the image we see.

So, the image formed in the eye is real (because it is formed by the actual convergence of light rays) and inverted (upside down).
