Yes, the thyroid gland does contain connective tissue. The thyroid gland is a butterfly-shaped organ located in the base of your neck. It releases hormones that control metabolism. The thyroid gland is composed of two types of cells: follicular cells and parafollicular cells.

The follicular cells surround and fill with colloid, which is a proteinaceous depot of the thyroid hormone precursor thyroglobulin. The parafollicular cells, also known as C cells, produce the hormone calcitonin.

Between these cells and follicles, there is a network of connective tissue. The connective tissue in the thyroid gland provides structural support and also contains blood vessels that supply the gland with blood. The connective tissue also helps to protect and isolate the gland from the surrounding tissues.
