Solution

Let's assume that the total number of fruits is 100 (this number is chosen for simplicity and because percentages are out of 100).

  1. At first, 60% of the fruits were durians. So, the number of durians = 60% of 100 = 60 durians.

  2. The rest were watermelons. So, the number of watermelons = 100 - 60 = 40 watermelons.

  3. Anisa sold 80% of the watermelons after a day. So, the number of watermelons sold = 80% of 40 = 32 watermelons.

  4. The number of watermelons left after selling = 40 - 32 = 8 watermelons.

  5. Therefore, the ratio of the number of durians to watermelons in the end = 60 : 8 = 15 : 2 (This is the simplest form after dividing both numbers by their greatest common divisor, which is 4).
