Question
What are tri acidic bases? Give one example.
Solution
Triacidic bases are bases that can accept three protons (H+ ions) per molecule. They have three ionizable hydrogen atoms and can therefore form three ions.
An example of a triacidic base is phosphorous acid (H3PO3). In aqueous solution, it can lose three protons to form the ions H2PO3-, HPO3^2-, and PO3^3-.
