Step 1: Understanding Teletransportation Teletransportation, in theory, involves the complete scanning and deconstruction of the object or person at the original location, and the reassembly of the exact same pattern of atoms at the destination. This raises the question of whether the person who arrives at the destination is the same person who left the original location, or a new person entirely.

Step 2: Teletransportation as Death Some philosophers argue that teletransportation is equivalent to death. This is because the original person or object is completely deconstructed in the process. If we define life or existence as a continuous, unbroken stream of consciousness, then the interruption caused by teletransportation could be seen as a form of death.
